Daniela's poetry partly narrates the film regarding the immigrant struggle of Daniela's father and her life long career as an author and activist in civil rights, human rights, peace, social and climate justice. The film is an inspiring foray into recent American history, using Daniela's work as an author of social justice issues and a performance poet as a backdrop. OCT. 25th, Tues. 7:00 PM: Hofstra University: Italian American Studies Program, Author and Activist: The Daniela Gioseffi Story will be previewed by prize-winning filmmaker Anton Evangelista who will participate with Daniela Gioseffi in a Q&A and reception afterwards. The documentary tells of Daniela's father's immigrant struggle, his achievements as among the first Itallian immigrants to win a Phi Beta Kappa from the Alfpha Chapt. at Union College, Schenectady, and his invention of the "Soft Light," bulb. The flim portrays Daniela's tenacious, life long career as an author and activist in civil rights, human rights, peace, social and climate justice, as well as her Pioneering of Italian American Culture.
